Jiayu joined the Tribune because she wanted to improve her writing skills. In addition, she noticed how biased major media can be, so she was curious about news production as a whole as well as the ethics behind it. She is now in her second year of Journalism. Her goal for journalism this year is to master the skills she acquired from the previous year. She want to participate more in the production cycle and get to know her peers better. Since Jiayu enjoys sketching, she sometimes stare at her friends to analyze their facial feature. If she could be any other person on the Tribune, she would be Lauren Chen because she really misses being a sophomore.
