Digby’s Donuts, on the corner of the Marketplace, offered a nice, quick experience. While they didn’t have the widest selection of goods, the staples they had were quite good. The prices of most of the items were higher than I would’ve liked, however, and a few items definitely fell short of being worth it.
The donut holes were the main standout of the bunch, being extremely fluffy and almost melting in the mouth. It was quite clear they had just been made. The glaze was done very well:l not being too sticky, while maintaining a good coating that melted rather than being crunchy.
The cinnamon twist, however, definitely toed the line, being the least favorite out of our selection.
It was pretty dry and noticeably not as fresh. I will say that they did a good job at balancing the amount of cinnamon, which is quite rare. It sadly did not make up for the other factors, though.
For the other items we got, the bagel sandwich was quite good, being freshly made and not too salty. In comparison, the apple fritter was another low point, especially since they are usually my favorite. It was too underseasoned with cinnamon, and also a little dry with the dough. Nonetheless, the amount of apple it contained was perfect.
