You’ve probably seen One House Bistro on your Instagram feed before. Known for its stunning, picture-perfect ambiance, this Asian fusion restaurant is as much a visual experience as it is a culinary one. With its floral decor, mini chandeliers and an aesthetic neon sign perfect for photo ops, One House Bistro is the kind of place that draws people in for its beauty and keeps them coming back for its food.
Starting off with appetizers, the Chicken Satay was a classic and the peanut sauce was a highlight. The sauce had a perfect balance of sweetness and nuttiness that complemented the well-grilled, tender chicken. Beyond the taste, the presentation was on point, setting the tone for the meal ahead.
Moving on to the main courses, the Green Curry with tofu and white rice was a standout. The first thing I noticed was its vibrant green color, which made it visually appealing before I even tasted it. The taste was just as impressive: there was a rich coconut flavor and a perfect balance of sweetness and spice level. The fresh vegetables added flavor, making every spoonful filled with comfort. The Spicy Basil Fried Rice was another solid dish. The fresh, aromatic basil infused the rice with its signature fragrance, and the rice itself was very well-cooked. However, there was a slight overabundance of vegetables, which, according to me, slightly overpowered the dish. But, if you’re a fan of veggies, this might be the dish for you.
The Pad Kee Mao was my personal favorite. The thick noodles were cooked perfectly, soaking up the sauce and delivering a well-balanced flavor. The portion size was generous, and the vegetables blended well with the dish without overwhelming it. This is definitely a must-try in my opinion. The Thai Basil Chicken, however, was a bit underwhelming. The flavor wasn’t particularly strong, and it felt like a simple stir-fry of vegetables mixed with chicken rather than a dish that stood out. While not necessarily bad, it wasn’t as exciting or flavorful as the other dishes I tried.
For drinks, we ordered the Dragon’s Heart, which came in a stunning heart-shaped glass. While I didn’t personally try it, it was undeniably aesthetically pleasing. That being said, it seemed slightly overpriced, though likely worth it for the presentation alone.
Beyond the food, the ambiance at One House Bistro is beautiful. The details, from the golden embroidery on the white plates to the custom napkins and golden utensils, add a luxurious touch. Walking in, you’re greeted by a gorgeous floral ceiling, soft lighting, and cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion with family or looking for a spot to catch up with friends, this place is an experience in itself.
Overall, One House Bistro delivers both in terms of aesthetics and food. While a couple of dishes weren’t particularly memorable, the hits outweighed the misses. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, this spot is definitely worth a visit.
