Valentine’s Day is approaching, with all of the sweets, longing and attention-seeking sighs that make it the holiday we all love and adore. In celebration of its red-hued cardiac symbology, the Tribune decided to interview a couple of interest and ask them for their thoughts regarding their relationship.

Q: Where and when did you guys meet?

Sam: We were introduced to each other at a mutual friend’s going away party the summer before ninth grade.

Q: What did you do on your first date?

Sam: If you count it, then our first date was Homecoming.

Kathleen: Freshman Homecoming.

Q: What’s one thing you love most about your partner?

Sam: It’s hard to pick one thing, but I love the fact that she makes me feel like I can always be my goofy self around her.

Kathleen: He always knows how to make me smile and laugh no matter what. I really love his silly humor.

Q: How do you plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day?

Sam: For Valentine’s Day, I’m planning on cooking dinner for the two of us and then we’re gonna have a “Star Wars” movie marathon.

Kathleen: Sam is going to enlighten me on “Star Wars” movies to show me the childhood I missed.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you can give to potential couples out there?

Sam: COMMUNICATION.

Kathleen: To always be there for each other no matter what, and to trust each other 100 percent.
It’s always nice to know that love is up and about in Dougherty Valley, however smothered it may be by a fusillade of tests and study material, providing a context to our labors and (perhaps) an end goal for all of us to aspire towards.
