Hillman to Lead Wildcats
It’s official: 62 days after Principal Reimann announced his departure from Dougherty, interim Principal Danny Hillman was formally introduced as the permanent principal of DVHS at the Education Board meeting on Tuesday, November 12th. Previously an assistant principal at Dougherty, Mr. Hillman has introduced the Take It and Make It Better mantra, saying he is “excited about the opportunity to lead DVHS and continue building our Traditions in Excellence.”
Almost immediately, this leadership has been put to the test, with the recent off-campus altercation between a Dougherty and San Ramon Valley High School student on Thursday, November 14th. Principal Hillman has formally responded to this incident, stating that he is cooperating with SRV and local police and that “school is a vital part of the community and we need to work together to address things that need changing. Investing time into our children and students to make them better human beings is in all of our interests.”
The Tribune sat down with Mr. Hillman to get to know him better, and came away with the first sketch of the man who now heads a community of over 2750 people- including his current state of mind, greatest fear, and breakfast cereal preference.\
