“Grease:” A preview of Dougherty’s 2018 drama musical
The Dougherty Valley’s Drama Program will put on the highly anticipated musical classic “Grease” from Feb. 1-4, bringing to the stage new faces playing characters not often seen on Dougherty’s campus.
“’Grease’ is a musical that’s been around since the seventies — it takes place in the 1950s and focuses on a love interest between two people from different worlds — different backgrounds — and most of the characters in the play are slightly rebellious,” Mr. Paul Vega, the drama advisor, commented.
Sophomore Breezy Bochenek and freshman Joshua Guadarrama will play the leads, Sandy and Danny.
Dougherty’s performances of Grease will take place at the Dougherty Performing Arts Center on Feb. 1-3 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. Tickets to “Grease” are available www.dvdrama.org and cost $15 for adults and $10 for students, senior citizens and children.
