He was hoping to gain popularity in America. He played at clubs and local bars all across Los Angeles. He was spotted by Jamie Foxx at the Foxxhole. Jamie was so impressed with Ed Sheeran he allowed him to stay at his home and also gave him permission to use his recording studio. By then Ed Sheeran was gaining popularity by other artists and through Youtube.

In 2011 Ed Sheeran released his first single, “The A-Team.” It was so popular that it sold 801,000 copies just in that year. Then he released his first album called plus later that year. His first album was also very popular, he sold 102,000 copies just in the first week. Taylor Swift was extremely impressed with him and contacted him and asked him to tour with her in 2012. He agreed to her offer and they created a song together called, “Everything Has Changed.” He also contributed to two songs with One Direction in their album in 2012.

Ed Sheeran opened for Taylor Swift in 2013 for her “Red Tour” which was taken place in 2013. During the tour he was creating his second album called Multiplied. He also worked with and recorded the album with Rick Rubin in Los Angeles and had some assistance from Pharrell. On April 7, 2014 he released his single of his second album called, “Sing.” People had mixed feelings about his single for his second album. Some loved it and some hated it. Ed Sheeran released his second album Multiplied on June 23, 2014. The album was ridiculously successful, it was the number one album in both The United Kingdom and The United States, and the album has been number one in the world for the tenth week in a row.

He has been on tour for the year of 2014 and has been gaining worldwide popularity. He has been performing concerts in Asia, Europe, The United States, and Canada. He is scheduled to perform in South America next year.
