Dougherty Decimates Dublin

The Dougherty Valley Wildcats men’s basketball team defeated the Dublin Gaels 75-62 on Tuesday January 13 at Dougherty Valley High school.

After both came into the game undefeated in league, this rivalry picked up after underdog Wildcats came out with a commanding victory over the Gaels.

The Wildcats dominated throughout the entire game, leading 34-26  at the half and finishing with an impressive score of 75-62.

Coach Hansen was  impressed with the team’s performance. He said the team overall is playing well and still continues to improve.  He is excited for the rest of the season. He is impressed with the entire starting lineup, as they all contributed to scoring at least 9 or more points and were very productive.

“The starting line up all contributed to at least 9 or more points in the game,” he said.  “And Gabe Manasala’s strong defense made it difficult for Dublin to score,” he added.

The one room for improvement he noted was their team defense overall.

The team as a whole was excited about their win, as well as the incredible fan support shown.  They hope DV students continue to attend and support the team.

The Wildcats currently have a record of 2-0 in league play.  Make sure to support them in their final game of the regular season tonight, where they face the Gaels again, this time at Dublin, at 5:30 p.m.
