“I wanted to inspire kids to work hard.”

Sana Shehabi

“Anyone who has ever met me knows that I love tennis. No matter the temperature outside, I love going out on the courts to practice. To me, tennis is not a sport; it is my life. I am a completely different person now than I was before I started playing. The biggest thing I realized while playing is that you can achieve anything if you have the passion for it. That kind of sounds cliche, but it’s true. For the past eight years, I’ve put in so much effort on and off the court in order to reach my athletic goals. The most important thing to me is that I keep trying to improve, no matter what challenges I face. These lessons can be applied in sports and in life. I wrote my book because I wanted to share the lessons I’ve learned from playing tennis. It’s important for kids to understand how much dedication and determination it takes to reach a goal. I wanted to inspire kids to work hard to accomplish it. It obviously felt really good once I got it published, but my main goal was to inspire younger kids to accomplish their goal. I really hope I was able to drive passion into someone.”
