Best Director

“Another Round”: Thomas Vinterberg
“Mank”: David Fincher
“Minari”: Lee Isaac Chung
“Nomadland”: Chloé Zhao
“Promising Young Woman”: Emerald Fennell

“Nomadland”: Chloé Zhao
I will say that this was a tough choice for me as well, choosing between Lee Isaac Chung and Chloé Zhao was not a fun choice. But, at the end of the day, I think the movie that impacted me the most out of all of these must also reflect the movie that I believe has the best direction, because well, the Director creates the movie and establishes the impact, right? So, although “Minari” was one of my favorite movies of all time, I ended up picking “Nomadland”, because it impacted me, with the most incredible story, and reminded me of all of the things I truly cherish in life: the little things with the most important people.
