“I joined track in sophomore year because I enjoyed running and wanted to pursue it in a school sport, and I run the 100, 200, and 4×100 relay. I’ve grown a lot as an athlete over the past two seasons, as I’ve improved my technique and work ethic. I’ve also learned how to overcome injuries and mental challenges while still continuing to be dedicated to track. For example, I had to learn how to balance track with school and other extracurricular activities. One highlight of my track career was qualifying to MOC finals with my 4×1 relay team and setting a school record! I love track because my team has become really close, and everyone is always so loving and supportive. My favorite part of track is seeing my teammates do well and cheering them on during their races.”
