“Acting is a therapy.”
Mariam Yar
“What inspired me to join theatre was our electives in sixth grade, [so I] actually started in drama in Gale, and that’s what really sparked my interest in theater. I love bonding with the cast — they’re great, and the magic that we make with the production is phenomenal. Acting is kind of like a therapy — you gotta kind of just get to go on stage and you get to be someone else, and it’s so cool, getting to know someone and like putting yourself in their shoes … I try to think about how the character really feels, and what they’re going through, and that’s how I showcase my expression. Drama is really important to me because like I said, [it’s] a bit like a therapy, being that I can always just come into the class and just be ready to perform and that’s something that I really like to enjoy.”
