“Coding is such a useful skill I have learned, and I hope to impact the world positively using coding.”
Sachi Sayal: “I gained coding experience from classes I took over the course of 3 years starting from when I was 12. After my first coding class I began to sign up for more because I was so intrigued by the process of coding. After my freshman year in high school, I enrolled in a camp at Diablo Valley College that focused on engineering and computer science. Those two weeks at the camp was so fun because I got to learn more about coding by building a mini car using my coding skills and my engineering skills. After my sophomore year in high school, I enrolled in a coding class where I learned C++, which was such a great experience.”
“Right now I’m in the process of learning Java, which has been hard, but fun to learn. Recently, my friend Hannah and I have started a club where we are designing websites from scratch, which is called San Ramon Tech for Social Good. After high school, I hope to study computer science in college and then go into software development as a career. The one part that spoke to me the most about coding was that I had control of what the output could be. I hope to inspire others in the future using computer science.”
