Basketball Season Preview

Dougherty Valley Basketball is extremely excited to start the season this upcoming winter.

Last year the basketball team had an outstanding record of 20-7 making it Dougherty Valley’s best basketball season yet. They finished the season in second place in their league and made it to NCS, but lost in the Quarter Finals to Freedom High School located in Oakley.

The head coach for the Wildcats this season is coach Hansen. Hansen is very excited to start the season and is expecting to see his players play hard, encourage each other, and represent Dougherty Valley basketball with confidence. He is hoping that the team will contend for a championship this year. He is expecting Dan sheets and Gabe Manansala just to name a few to have strong season.

Dougherty Valley’s toughest opponent this season will be against Campolindo. Campolindo finished first in league last season just in front of Dougherty. Also another tough opponent will be Dublin, Dougherty’s Rival school.

“I want our players to continue to work hard, hope they continue to improve, and hope that we have great fans to support us at our games.” Said coach Hansen. It looks like its going to be an exciting and fun season for Dougherty Valley basketball.
